SIP Registration String

For questions during install

SIP Registration String

Postby inv3nt0r » Tue Jun 01, 2010 7:09 am

I have just installed the dialer software, and entered the information for my SIP connection. The SIP line I am attempting to use is a single line which dials out of someone elses dialer. I can use X-Lite to make calls from this conection, and it requires authentication. Is there a configfuration file in which I must enter a 'registration string' in order to use this connection? Is it impossible to use this SIP line for testing purposes?

I noticed in VICIDIAL there is a setup page on the web interface to enter carrier information, on which the registration string can be entered. I suspect this can be accomplished by editing one of OSDial's .conf files.

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not at all.

You would just add the following to the /etc/asterisk/osdial_sip_registrations.conf file:

Code: Select all
register => user[:secret[:authuser]]@host[:port][/extension]

But I believe their next release will have GUI based carrier configuration.
